Copyright & Fair Use

Note: the following is based on Wikipedia’s licensing information on album covers.

The copyright for all music album or single cover images is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the music or artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of album or single covers:

  • solely to illustrate the album or single in question,
  • on the English-language Notes From The Other Side, hosted on servers in the United States and owned by Bill Murphy,

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Notes From The Other Side or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia’s Fair use article for more information.
